Please check our terms and conditions before making a booking. Independent from what other sites / agents might communicate with you, only our official T&Cs apply to access and stays at Terania Green. All information on this website is indicative only, our place constantly changes and there is no guarantee that all information is true / correct at the time you read it or arrive for your visit.
Terms and Conditions - in plain English - July 2017
We currently operate under a Holiday Farm Tourist License and will ONLY provide the individual services and offerings mentioned on this website when and once approved and licensed by council.
We assume you are a grown up and self responsible. By booking, or otherwise entering into an agreement / contract (verbal or in writing) with us - AND by visiting / entering our property you accept the following terms and conditions and liabilities. Please always discuss special needs or requirements with us - no assumptions!
1. Site Access
All Access to the property is private and only by explicit permission of the owners - that would be us, Kirsten and Christian Uhrig. Once you have been authorised to access the property, you do so at your own risk and are fully responsible for your own wellbeing and the wellbeing of those in your care. We have the sole right to allow or reject access and protect our interests and the safety of ourselves and others.
2. Accommodation / Cabins / Cottages
We provide accommodation in our cabins, which we constantly renovate and change and improve. Images in brochures or on the website are indicative only. Checkin is between 2pm and 6pm check out at 10am unless otherwise agreed with us. Later arrivals need to be pre organised as reception is NOT always open. There is no street lighting and we usually put out a light to help guests to find the entry. So please let us know
Each Cabin is suited for 2 Adults - please check with us if you want to have more people (little or big) visiting - we might be able to assist.
We provide Bed Linnen and Towels for your stay - please bring your own Beach towels if you want to go swimming somewhere.
The Kitchenette in the Cabin is functional but not very big - please check with us if you want to cook more sophisticated meals - we might be able help you out. We do not have microwave.
We have our private furniture in the cabins and hence would expect you to keep it in good shape.
In summer it can get very hot and we provide a mobile aircon for sleeping comfort during those hot nights. The Aircon is not to be run all day as it is to small for this.
3. Neighbours and Peace
Terania Green is in a rural area and it is peaceful and quiet - and we like it like that. We also have neighbours which we respect.
We like a good BBQ, outdoor dinner or party at times - and we want you to enjoy yourselves and have fun too. We also expect that you do not produce excessive or late noise which could disturb our beauty sleep, our neighbours or the peace and quiet of the area.
We have the sole right to our property and may at our own discretion ban anyone from site without further explanation. In cases where these T&Cs, the law, the peace, or the safety of anyone may be threatened / broken - we have and may use the right and power to remove people from our property and claim damages.
4. Booking - Deposits, Cancellation & Refunds
We offer our cabins through different channels and most of the times need to check the calendar and emails to make sure we don't double book.
A booking is only accepted when a deposit has been accepted and we confirmed the stay IN WRITING.
Photo ID will be required on checkin. All rates are inclusive of 10% GST
Due to the significant charges of American Express Card payments - we charge 5% of the transaction value processed through AMEX cards. We are happy to accept Visa / Mastercard at no additional charges. This applies to deposits and final and all other payments.
We ask for a 20% Deposit (non refundable) with the booking - minimum of 1 night for short stays.
Cancellations (or changes) within 10 days of the booked arrival date - entitle us to the FULL PAY for the stay (on top of your deposit).
The deposits are NON REFUNDABLE because most of our bookings are in times of high demand and we might have rejected other people's inquiries.
We want to be fair and reasonable and therefore reserve the right to refund (at our own discretion) normally if the following conditions are met:
The Booking has been cancelled a minimum of 10 days prior to the booking date AND
we were subsequently able to accept another booking - OR your booking was for the OFF season / during the week and we didn't reject other bookings for the same period.
If we choose to refund, we will deduct an appropriate amount for handling and credit card transactions at our discretion.
So please make sure you want to stay with us and understand these T&Cs before you book and pay your deposit.
Upon arrival we ask you to fill in a sign in form - and in case you bring a pet we ask for a security deposit of $300 (via cc paper slip) - which we destroy / return when you leave our place undamaged. See the form here.
We, the owners, reserve the right to cancel any booking for any reason, without having to justify or remediate any consequence or damage arising from this cancellation. While we will always aim to accommodate our guests and honour our commitments, there could be reasons why we need or want to cancel a booking. If we cancel a booking we may or may not refund the deposit, depending on our reasons and in line with our attitude to fair and reasonable treatment of each other individual.
You are fully liable for yourself and everything you and your travel party do. If you break something, you have to replace it. If you hurt yourself or something hurts you while you are on the property, we are NOT responsible - unless we have personally acted in a negligent manner and you would have to provide solid proof in this case. We provide a cleaning service as part of the rental fee for a "normal clean" - we normally do NOT charge a separate cleaning fee. You are required to leave the Cottages in an orderly and generally clean manner. We will prepare it for the next guests. Should substantially more effort be required to clean up your mess, we are entitled to charge you a reasonable amount against the credit card provided as security at the time of booking / confirmation. A typical engagement of a cleaner is in the order of $150 - $250. We go a long way to communicate in an honest and responsible manner with our guests and visitors. We do send out emails, have information material at the facility and run a welcome inducting about the risks and hazards in the natural environment we live in. These include but are not limited to the following points:
Although we do our best, the grounds and facilities might not be safe and there might be direct risks or hidden risks. It is up to you to ensure you are safe at all times - not up to us. See 5. Liability. The property has a boundary along Terania Creek - which at most times has water levels that are likely to pose a drowning risk for children and adults that are not good swimmers.
7. Food & Water
We eat and drink what we source locally and while we take the utmost care in providing, growing, buying, preparing and storing our food - there are no guarantees that the food is suitable for you - should we share a meal with you. If you get sick - see 5. Liability.
If you feel unsure or unsafe, don't consume anything provided by us. If you have allergies or other conditions - talk to us first.
8. Animals / Pets
There are wild and domestic animals on the property. Some are ours some are not, some might be yours. We do not guarantee that it is safe to be with or around the animals. You know the drill - see 5. Liability and ask or talk to us about it. We respect the animals on the property - and we expect you to do so as well. They are all important, even the smallest ones.
We have some private insurances in place - you should have all your own and you can't hold us liable for any misfortune, damage, illness or other negative effect you experience on our property or after a visit.
10. Site Health & Safety
There is a risk (although minor due to the remote nature) of break-ins / theft . You should not leave your personal belongings unattended and should lock the cabin when you leave for yours or activities.
Please check yourself and your pets daily for ticks – ask Kirsten for assistance for removal.
When using the facilities on site, ensure you are safe and don't expose yourself and those travelling with you to any hazards such as - open fire, hot surfaces (fireplace), drops, slips, trips, falls, wildlife. In other words - make sure you and your family are safe.
If in doubt - ask the Kraut - before it becomes a problem.
